How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Start Enjoying My travels
The best part of my life was the last phase of my life – the time when I took up a new passion, and began to learn how to travel. How I learned to stop worrying and love to travel is part of that story, but I’ll save that for another time. In this article, I’d like to tell you about my first experience in the field. And while I had some hiccups along the way, the benefits I gained from this lifelong pursuit outweigh any downside I got from it. This is how I learned to stop worrying and love travel.
One night in Venice, I decided to stay at the Adriatic Sea Hotel for a week. I booked my room close to the shore so that I wouldn’t have to hike much to get around; I figured that I wouldn’t need to go much farther than Venice Beach anyway. But when I woke up in the middle of the night and realized that I still hadn’t made it back to my hotel, I knew I’d made a huge mistake. I needed to focus all my energy on getting back to my hotel, because if I didn’t, I might end up spending the week in bed, unable to get out.
So I packed up my suitcase and headed for the ocean. I figured that there wouldn’t be that many places I had to get off the beaten path. What I didn’t realize was that there are a lot of beautiful landscapes out there, hidden away in countries you may have never heard of. I found one small island that I wanted to explore; it looked similar to the picture I had seen on the cover of a travel brochure. It took all the energy I had to make the short trek across the island, and when I finally saw the beach, it just about took me over.
I’ve seen everything from enormous glaciers in Patagonia, to enormous coral reefs off the coast of South America. There’s no question that I have been blessed, and that my experiences have shaped who I am. I didn’t know how special my love travel was going to be until I fell in love. Now I find that I can’t imagine traveling any place without my new passion.
When I was on my first big trip, I was so excited! I was able to pack more into my suitcase than I usually carry, and I had a blast. That first adventure led me on a series of adventures that have since taken me all over the world. That’s why I’m sharing my love travel story with you. I want you to know how I learned to stop worrying and start loving travel again.
It all started with this trip to Chile. I went to Machu Picchu, which is located in the Valley of the Gods, and I discovered a beautiful region of the Inca citadel. I also visited ancient Incan ruins and trekked through jungles in search of ancient Incan stone carvings. I met some exciting people, and I was enchanted by the beauty of South America. All of this changed my outlook on travel, as I started to realize that there are many places worth exploring and that I’d love to see them again someday.
I’ve taken several trips to Africa since then, and each time I feel even more inspired to go back. As I mentioned before, I started my journey because I wanted to get away from everything, especially my day job. Traveling allowed me to escape the daily rat race and have time to relax and think about the big picture. When I started to read more about African culture and travel, I started to understand that my love for this remarkable continent started much earlier than I’d thought. As I read more, I realized that I could actually use African art and architecture during my next trip.
I still get nervous when I think about leaving my house, but I now make plans to be ready before I leave. I try not to think about bad things, and I try to be as positive as possible. I’ve discovered that being positive is key. Once I started to really believe in myself, I started to notice that my worries and fears were diminishing. Now, I’m sure that I’ll never forget my African vacation.
